Abstract

Young people's mental health needs must be recognised if they are to reach their full potential as individuals and as contributors to society's growth. Unfortunately, young individuals are less inclined to seek professional assistance despite the availability of effective therapies. Lack of familiarity with mental health issues and treatments, as well as widespread stigma, prevents many from getting help. The current study aims to decipher the population's covid-specific mental health literacy, stigma, and also attitude toward seeking professional assistance. The research investigates how college students' mental health literacy, attitudes regarding obtaining psychological care from trained professionals, and experiences of stigma and prejudice are all interconnected. The results of the research indicate that there is a considerable gender difference in both mental health knowledge and attitudes towards getting treatment, and that this difference is positively correlated with the variables. Large-scale efforts to promote mental health have the potential to lessen the cultural stigma associated with seeking professional treatment, which, in turn, may increase the population's likelihood of doing so.
